Energy Efficiency

At the Bloomsbury Colleges we are committed to reduce our energy consumption, and the associated carbon dioxide emissions, as much as possible through a series of actions that improve our existing systems, raise awareness among users, and make use of renewable energy.

More than two-thirds of the world's carbon dioxide emissions come from the way energy is produced and used. Energy generation from fossil fuels produces a large share of greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change, as well as to other environmental problems including smog and acid rain.

The UK alone is responsible for about two percent of the whole world's man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions while the energy sector, relying mostly on fossil fuelled power, contributes the largest share of UK emissions (approximately 35%).
